DEC Announces Public Meeting of Swalm Street Site
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 29 to present its proposal for the remediation of environmental contamination at 118-130 Swalm Street Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Site. The meeting will be held at Park Avenue High School, Westbury at 7 p.m. The 118-130 Swalm Street site is located on the east side of Swalm Street approximately 400 feet north of Main Street in the New Cassel Industrial Area (NCIA).

CPHS Senior Recognized As News12 Scholar Athlete
Carle Place High School was very honored when News12 Long Island selected senior Lisa Mulvey as a News12 Citibank Scholar Athlete. On Jan. 13, News12 documented a typical day for Lisa. After a short presentation of a plaque to the school's principal, Neil J. Connolly, the news team followed Lisa to the newspaper office, track practice and her AP English class.
