Local School Boards Pass Budgets
The Carle Place Union Free School District's proposed budget of $22,922,022 passed with 560 votes for and 259 votes against on Thuesday, May 18. Residents can expect a 4.88 percent tax increase for the 1999-2000 school year. The budget includes transportation for all students K-12 living beyond the designated measuring points, capital projects for the three schools, and the hiring of additional staff in the high school to cover the nine period day and the raised standards set by Albany for the 1999-2000 school year.
