Syosset teens Louis Lagalante, 15, and his brother, Daniel, 13, are swimming to raise money for cancer charities. They are participating in Swim Across America, a charity event dedicated to increasing awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events. Last year, Louis swam 1 mile and raised over $3,500. This year he plans on swimming 5K, and together with his brother who is swimming 1 mile, they are striving to collect over $5,000 in donations. Louis is a student at Chaminade High School in Mineola. Daniel attends South Woods Middle School in Syosset.
