A proposed six-month extension on a moratorium on the issuance of building permits for the construction of new or expanded buildings; the approval of site plans, special use permits or variances; the preliminary or final approval of any subdivision plat or partitioning map; and the issuance of any demolition permits except for emergency purposes within an "NB" Neighborhood Business District located on the southeasterly side of Woodbury Road, between Wren Drive and Lark Drive, Woodbury, will be the subject of a Tuesday, August 5, hearing by the Oyster Bay Town Board, according to Oyster Bay Town Councilman Chris J. Coschignano.
"In response to residents' concerns about the potential impact of new and expanded commercial development on this parcel, which abuts residential properties on three sides, the Town Board approved a building moratorium in this area of Woodbury and instructed the Department of Planning and Development to compile the results of the study and make recommendations for the Town Board's consideration," Coschnigano stated. "The request for an extension was made by the attorney for the estate that owns the property."
Coschignano noted that the meeting will be held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay. Beginning at 10 a.m., the regular Town calendar, including the above-mentioned hearing, will be called. Following the regular Town business, the Town Board will be available to listen to public comment on any matter.
