The weather provided a smorgasbord of sun, rain, warmth and chilliness this past week, but it didn't limit the fun for families all around town as the SYAC Girls Softball's spring 2008 season hit full stride.

In addition to its regular program, SYAC has four travel teams in league play in the softball division of the NJBL. On Saturday, May 10, the Thunder, a U12 team, took on the Long Island Heat at Syosset High School. On Sunday, the Hurricanes, a U10 team, played a doubleheader at Syosset-Woodbury Park against the Silver Bullets, while the U14 Xtreme traveled to Connectiquot for two games. The Storm, a U10 squad, had a bye.

Tryouts for travel teams for the summer and for the next school year will be held in early June. For more information: www.syacgs.org.
