By approving the coming year's East Williston's school district budget by a margin of 3 to 1, and approving a State-funded Excel grant by an even larger margin, our community has indicated its strong support for the fiscally sound and educationally progressive leadership of our Superintendent, Dr. Lorna Lewis, and our Assistant Superintendent for Business, Alan Philips. We are indeed fortunate to have the services of these talented administrators. Interestingly, the Board's vote on the budget was 4 in favor, with Mr. O'Kelly abstaining. The abstention is out of step with community sentiment.
