Giving children the best possible resources to achieve, to learn and to excel are part of the mission of the Foundation for the Advancement of Student Technology (F.A.S.T.). F.A.S.T. has helped the Roslyn School District augment and finance technology initiatives that have not been encompassed into the yearly budget. Over the past six years, F.A.S.T. has raised in excess of $180,000, allowing the children to capitalize, benefit and learn in new ways.
F.A.S.T. does not just purchase computers. Technology reaches into many areas of education. For example, students will be able to view video with sound in classroom sent to a notebook/laptop. F.A.S.T. is purchasing the Video Servers which enable this unique capability, allowing the students to learn using creative multimedia experience. Additionally, teachers can draw students into subjects with powerful presentations on SMARTBoards, instead of just a traditional black and white chalkboard. Over the past five years F.A.S.T. has purchased units which are used throughout the district.
Please join us Monday, Sept. 8 at the Glen Head Country Club for the F.A.S.T. Golf Outing and Card Party for what has always been a terrific day for the community. The event is being held in memory of Stacey Litt. For more information, please contact Larry Cohen's office: 248-0444.; email: larry@norgate.com.
