The Sid Jacobson JJC Barracudas always enjoy competing against the Thunderbirds of Manhattan in their sky pool. Located on the upper West Side, the Thunderbirds' pool is on the 6th floor with two walls of windows and a great view.
The meet started with the Women 10 & Under 200 Medley Relay with the Barracudas taking both first and third place. The first place team was neck to neck until Addie Midgen, the last swimmer finally pulled her team ahead to win. The Women 11-17 team also took first place in their 200 Medley Relay. In the Women 8 & Under 25 Fly, Claudia Brady and Marlee Singer took first and second place respectively. In the 9-10 Fly event, Ben Levy and Jackson Sugarman took first and third for the men while Lexi Singer and Marisa Struhl took first and third for the women.
In the Women 8 & Under 25 Back, Isabella Pirone took first place. In the Women 9-10 50 Back, Taylor Brook continued her winning streak in this category by taking first place. In the Women 13-14 backstroke, Allison Schefer pulled ahead in the last lap to win first place. For the 100 IM, the Barracudas took first place in both Men and Women 8 & Under and 9-10. For the grueling 200 Free, Taylor Brooks and Addie Midgen took first and second place for the Women while Jackson Sugarman took first for the Men 10 & Under; Allsion Schefer took first in the 11-17 age group. The Barracudas finished the meet taking first in almost every category but ultimately lost the meet by a small margin. Still, there were smiles at the end of the day for a great competition in the Big Apple.
