Dr. John Richman, an educator with more than 30 years of experience as an educator, was appointed by the board of education on April 12 as Roslyn's new superintendent of schools. The appointment is effective as of July 1.

Finnegan Wins Spot at Pan American Games
Billy Finnegan, an instructor at World Champion Tokey Hill Karate in Roslyn, took the Gold Medal at the North American Championships in Monterey, Mexico. This event was a qualifier for the Pan American Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro July 13 through July 29 Competitors from Canada, United States and Mexico had to get the Gold to qualify and Billy Finnegan was the only U.S. karate athlete to do so.
