The Mineola PAL Chiefs 9 White and 9 Maroon stayed undefeated this past week. On Sunday 9 White tied the Farmingdale Hawks 6-6 and the 9 Maroon beat the East Rockaway Raiders 25-12, to move their winning records to 1-0-1 and 2-0.
This past Sunday in Farmingdale the name of the game was Defense, as the Chiefs tied the Hawks 6-6. The defense was all over the field causing havoc, with intense pressure and gang tackling. The defensive line of Teddy Capsis, Kyle Facibene, Lucas Golon, Michael Delio, Joe Pino and Kyle Spruill kept the pressure on the Uniondale's offense all day long. The linebackers were fearless, as they attacked the ball and finished the job with great gang tackling. They were led by Thomas O'Connell, Brian Smith, Andrew Cunningham and Thomas Davis. Also on Sunday, Chiefs 9 Maroon went on the road and defeated the East Rockaway Raiders 25-12 as both quarterbacks, Justin Johnson and TJ Kemmet, put on a show. The Chiefs' offense moved the ball all day long because of sound blocking by the offensive line of Matthew Lafaye, John Clancy, Tom O'Dwyer, Danny Gonzalez, Austin Certa, Vinny Napolitano and Kevin Klimas. The Raiders were overwhelmed and amazed by the Chiefs' defensive tackling and speed to the ball led by strong safety Michael Elefonte and cornerbacks Anthony Preston and Eric McCloskey. Defensive lineman Nick Reda, Peter McCormack, Brendan Sullivan, Brian Greenberg and Antonio Prunella kept the heat on. Scoring summarized below:
