How much deeper can that individual who stole from the cancer fund, collected by our students, wound and inflict pain on our community? How much more danger can be imparted upon our children learning to navigate through life, discerning right from wrong? You, who clandestinely committed the ultimate act of betrayal, must live with your emotional incarceration, shame and guilt. There are no words in our lexicon that could convey the depth of heartache I feel as a person and parent over your heinous breach of trust. The book entitled, The Descent of Man by Charles Darwin seems to capture the moment. Ultimately, the danger lies in the quiet resignation that deception happens right here in our own home.
