Seven hundred people filled the Roslyn High School auditorium on Saturday, September 24 for a night of laughter and giving to help Friends of Bryant Library in their fund-raising effort for a new circulation desk for the Bryant Library.

"Comedy Night!" featured Roslyn's own Wendy Liebman, and an entourage of comic talent that included Brian Kiley, Ted Alexandro and another Roslynite Ali Bernstein. When asked why she wanted to do the event, Wendy responded that it was her "way of doing something for the library, one of her favorite places while she was growing up in Roslyn."

The Friends of Bryant Library offer a heart-felt thank you to the many people who contributed to the success of "Comedy Night!" From the comedians, who displayed their generosity to match their enormous talent and waived their fees, to the Crickets, the delightful singing group (which includes Wendy's dad, Ken) for their tradition of volunteerism and to library staff members: Patti Ringrose, Victor Caputo, Barbara Federman and her circulation service crew, Susan Owens and members of her Young Adult Advisory Committee, Director Elizabeth McCloat and Assistant Director Cathy Mealing.

The aid offered by library trustee Evelyn Philips, Roslyn Schools Director of Community Relations/Adult Ed, Barry Edelson and Public Information Assistant Andrea Rubin was also key to the success of the comedy show. The event was captured on film by the multi-talented photographer, neurosurgeon and Friends supporter, Dr. Mel Greenberg.
