The fifth annual North Hempstead Cup Soccer Tournament will be held on Columbus Day Weekend, Oct. 8 - 10.
The tournament, which will be held at several locations throughout the town, will host 254 teams from North Hempstead and the tri-state area. The Soccer Advisory Committee invites residents to come out and cheer for these kids as they go for the cup.
Games are played at many venues throughout the town and the surrounding area including Michael J. Tully Park in New Hyde Park, Harbor Links in Port Washington, Sousa Elementary School in Sands Point, Soccer Park in Plainview and Mitchel Field in Uniondale.
The North Hempstead Cup is run by the Town of North Hempstead's Soccer Advisory Committee, comprised of representatives from each soccer club in the town as well as Councilman Anthony D'Urso who acts as a liaison to the town board.
The committee was established in 1999 to promote and preserve the sport of soccer throughout the town.
