The Indians in the Roslyn Little League Majors Division improved their record to 1-1 today. Jared Litt and Ben Mayo each pitched three innings for the victory. The Buffaloes got their only run in the first inning when Spencer Schwartz walked and then scored on hits by Jay Ribakove by Austin Blau. In the bottom of the first inning the Indians scored twice. Ben Kerpen walked, stole second and third. Ben Mayo, now batting for the Indians doubled home Ben Kerpen. The next batter, Jeffrey Gottlieb moved Ben Mayo over the third. Then after a walk by Brett Hanfling, Alex Sands doubled to left scoring Ben Mayo. At the end of the first inning the Indians led 2-1.
The Indians, in the bottom of the third inning scored three more runs. Again, Ben Kerpen walked to lead off the inning and stole second. Jared Litt then moved him over to third on a fielder's choice. Ben Mayo walked and stole second. Jeffrey Gottlieb walked to load the bases. Brett Halfling's sacrifice fly to right scored Ben Kerpen who had tagged up. Alex Sands' second double to left drove in Ben Mayo, and Jeffrey advanced to third. Jake Lewit singled to right sending home Jeffrey for the third run of the inning. The score was now 5-1 Indians, which was the final score of the game.
Brandon Rothberg, Adam Goldman and James Kaminsky, playing great defense for the Indians kept the Buffaloes from scoring more runs. The Indians go on to play the Red Sox Wednesday night.
