Claire Bodine Madden, of Roslyn Heights, passed away early on Dec. 2, 2003. Mrs. Madden was the head secretary of the guidance office of Manhasset High School for over 20 years. During that time, she became popular among many of the thousands of Manhasset students who came to know her while applying to colleges. She always had a warm smile and encouraging words for each student. She treasured her many friends at Manhasset High School, both staff and faculty. She retired in 1993. Mrs. Madden attended St. Joseph Academy in Brentwood and went on St. Lawrence University and Adelphi University. Born in NYC and raised in Douglaston, she moved to Roslyn Heights in 1955.

Claire was the cherished wife of the late Patrick J. Madden. She was the beloved mother of P. Douglas Madden, a graduate of Holy Cross High School, and four daughters, all of whom graduated from St. Mary's Girls High School in Manhasset: Claire (Lorrie) Madden Sr., Sr. Didi Madden, OP, Loretta Madden Holman and Suzanne Madden Sternkopf. Dear mother-in-law of Kathi Simendinger Maddend, also a St. Mary's H.S. graduate, as well as Gene Sternkopf and Stephen Holman. Her greatest happiness was as the devoted and much-loved grandmother, affectionately called "Gaki," of Kathryn, Courtney, Sean, Kari, Erich, Patricia, Connor, Kristin and Will.

Arrangements were made by the Roslyn Heights Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's RC Church. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing.

Veronica A. (Ronnie) Sullivan, of Albertson, died on Dec. 3, 2003. Wife of the late Richard. Mother of Richard Jr., Robert, Patricia and Maureen McLaughlin. Mother-in-law of Laura, Madeline and Kevin. Grandmother of Richard, John, Brendan, Hannah and Angela. Sister of Miriam Dorrian. Arrangements were made by the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, Williston Park. Funeral Mass at St. Aidan's RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
