Downtown Fire Spares Grist Mill
The Robeson-Williams Grist Mill, one of the more historic structures in Roslyn, might have been spared total destruction from a fire last Saturday, Jan. 12 that did interior damage to Millenia Beauty Enterprises, 1345 Old Northern Blvd.

Village Weighs Verizon Bid
The Village of Roslyn Estates board of trustees will be weighing a bid by Verizon to construct an antenna tower/structure at 1044 Northern Boulevard. Verizon has filed for a building permit. In addition, they will need a special use permit from the building before any construction can begin. Such permits will require public hearings, ones that will probably take place at future BOT meetings.

Bulldogs Continue Winning Ways
Things are happening with the Roslyn High School varsity basketball squad. On Tuesday, Jan. 8, the Bulldogs continued their winning ways by defeating Sewanhaka, 71-41. Leading scorers for Roslyn were Raymond Johnson (23 points), Andrew Oliver (18 points), and Ronny Koening (14 points). The Bulldogs took a 21-10 first quarter lead and increased their margin in both the second and third quarters.
