The Waldbaum Cup is a tournament played throughout Long Island over the course of two months. It started in March and games were played on Saturdays, in order to continue with the tournament, you must win or else you go home. The Twisters did just that - they won.

On a June Saturday afternoon, the temperature may have been cruising towards 90 degrees, but that didn't stop the U15 girls, Oyster Bay Twisters from keeping their cool as they beat the Commack Mustangs by a score of 2-1 to capture the Waldbaums Cup.

In a tournament that started in March, the girls had to beat four worthy opponents to get to this game. This experience included a huge win over rival Island Trees that ended in the dark, and the rain, by shootout. The Twisters record for the season is 12-0-1. For the year it is 19-0-3.

Great job Twisters! Great jobs too from Paul Cutter, trainer and Deborah Catacosinos and Joseph Heaney, coaches.
