On June 21, in a playoff showdown between the first and second place teams in the Minors Division, the Tigers (Play It Again Sports) defeated the A's (Willis Hobbies) by the score of 6-4.
For Play It Again Sports, Peyton Maier and Jason Ward led the pitching efforts, giving up only two runs each. For Willis Hobbies, Michael Bowen and Tyge Duffy led the pitching efforts.
For Play It Again Sports, Christopher Alexander led off the scoring efforts with a steal of home followed by a two-RBI double by Jason Ward. Christopher Alexander later stole home a second time after tripling. Daniel Braster, a call-up from the Farms Division, had a hit, driving in a run and Christopher Alexander completed the scoring for Play It Again Sports with another RBI hit.
Play It Again Sports also had a number of key defensive plays in the field led by Naoki Rufian, Michael Philban, Daniel Pereira and Raymond Tamburino.
For Willis Hobbies, Joe Egan drove in Tyge Duffy, who had singled in the first inning. Neal Ressa followed in the second inning by driving in Kevin Lavrado, who had singled. Kevin also had an outstanding game at catcher.
In the fourth inning, both Neal Ressa and Marcos Goncalves had RBI hits to rally for Willis Hobbies, but it was not enough for the victory.
Willis Hobbies also had a number of good defensive plays including plays by Max Amestegui, Matthew Kelly, Brandon Mendes and Lucas Musella.
