The first Stroke Survivors meeting will be held at St. Frances de Chantel Church. Meetings will continue to be held on the first Saturday of every month in room 10 of the schoolhouse. Hope4stroke Inc. announces its annual Fall Health Fair to be held at Majorie Post Park, Merrick and Unqua Rds. Hope4Stroke will host family activities featuring health and wellness information, kid's fun stations, live music and opportunities to obtain free health screenings which include blood pressure, and glucose with a specific focus on heart and stroke information. There will be free interactive games, sports and activities for youth and the entire family as well as food sales, and giveaways. Everything gets underway at 10 a.m. There is no rain date. All proceeds will go to the Hope4Stroke, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to educate the community on all relevant information regarding stroke prevention. The Mill Neck Manor festival brings the best of the autumn season to LI. This year's festival, Oct. 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., features apples, handmade country crafts, seasonable produce, grilled bratwurst, children's activities and more. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the deaf, the Mill Neck Family of Organizations and its services. There will be a Cheese House, baked goods, jellies, fudge and strudels. The Country Store features a full-line of Karl Ehmer wurst and bacon products. The "Gourmet Shop" offers fine snacks and sparkling apple cider. In the children's activities area, Gooseberry Grove will have a fantastic array of games, including an inflatable slide. Musicians Michele Purcell and Barbara Fine Buxbaum will perform.
