The Oyster Bay Town Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, has been changed to Tuesday, July 15, beginning at 10 a.m., it was announced by Town Councilman Joe Muscarella.
In announcing the new meeting date, the councilman also announced new dates for two public hearings originally scheduled for July 8.
A request for a special use permit for a Panera Bread restaurant in Massapequa will be considered at a Tuesday, July 15, public hearing beginning at 10 a.m.
"The applicants, Doherty Breads, LLC and Sunrise Promenade Associates, are seeking a special use permit to allow a restaurant with a permitted occupancy of 76 or more," Councilman Muscarella stated. "The property is located in an 'NB' Neighborhood Business District on the south side of Sunrise Highway just west of Unqua Road, with a street address of 5272 Sunrise Highway."
Proposed improvements to the South Farmingdale Water District will be the subject of a Tuesday, August 5, public hearing beginning at 10 a.m.
"The Commissioners of the South Farmingdale Water District are requesting the town board to consider the improvement of facilities consisting of the design and installation of a volatile organic removal system at Plant 1 located on Langdon Road in Farmingdale and Plant 3 located on Hicksville Road in North Massapequa," Councilman Muscarella stated. "The total cost of the project, which may include the installation of iron filtration equipment, air stripping equipment, blowers, filters, motors, pumps, pump controls, equalization tanks and emergency power facilities, and piping modifications, incidental site improvements, electrical and control modifications, pump modifications to wells 1-2, 1-3 and 3-1, as well as related electrical, mechanical and site improvements is estimated to be $18 million. The Commissioners have petitioned the town board to authorize the issuance of $18 million in serial bonds to cover the cost."
Oyster Bay Town Board meetings are held in the hearing room of Town Hall East, 54 Audrey Ave., Oyster Bay. Beginning at 10 a.m., the regular town calendar, including the above-mentioned hearing, is called. Following the regular town business, the town board will be available to listen to public comment on any matter.
