Madeline La Rosa Tallon died on July 28, 2008 after a lengthy illness. She lived in Manhasset for over 40 years. Born on January 25, 1935 in Brooklyn, she was the youngest child of Filippo and Maria La Rosa. Mr. La Rosa was one of the founders of V. La Rosa and Sons, which at one time was the largest selling brand of pasta products and Italian foods.
Madeline was a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She spent her life and time raising and caring for her family. She is survived by her husband James, and children Madeline Marks (Andrew) of White Plains, New York, Phyllis Farawell (John) of Verona, New Jersey, and James Jr. She was also devoted to her seven grandchildren, Allison, Jessica, Kelly, Lauren, Daniel, Colin and Christine. James Tallon is the chairman CEO and co-founder of Educational Resource Systems, Inc., a multi-million dollar pharmaceutical training and medical education company located in Roslyn Heights and Red Bank, New Jersey.
Memorial services were held at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home on July 31 and Aug. 1. Interment was at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington. Contributions in memory of Madeline Tallon may be made to St. Francis Hospital, care of the Development Office, 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY, 11576.
