As many of you know we have been sending Girl Scout cookies and Cub Scout popcorn to our soldiers serving in Iraq. The soldiers are so grateful.
While they eat many of the treats we send, they also share them with the locals. The soldiers have been moved by the number of children who come running up to them and as a result have made a request. They have asked us if we could collect new and clean/gently used children's soccer uniforms and equipment that they can distribute to the Iraqi children. We are asking for your help!
We are blessed in many ways. Each year children who register for soccer receive new uniforms and soccer balls. They have usually outgrown their cleats and shin guards from the prior year. As you go through your children's uniforms and equipment, please consider donating what no longer fits them. Specifically we are asking for clean uniforms (jerseys and shorts), deflated balls, shin guards, goalie gloves and gently used cleats.
We would ask that you please tie each pair of cleats together by the laces/with ribbon/string/rubber band, etc. to ensure the pair stays together.
Please drop off your clean/gently used items at the Manhasset Soccer Club
Camp at the Manhasset High School turf field on July 2 or July 3rd between
9 a.m. and noon or at the Wysota residence at 313 Mill Spring Road in
Manhasset from July 5 to July 7.
