The 2007 Wisdom Lane Girls seventh and eighth grade badminton team began its season with little knowledge and a lot of room for improvement. Only five players returned from the previous season, and filled out its roster with 10 girls who had never played organized badminton before. Throughout the course of the eight-week season, however, the girls banded together and showed remarkable improvement for such a relatively short period of time.

The season began on a sour note, with the girls taking a demoralizing loss at the hands of Salk Middle School, their crosstown rival. Soon after though, the improvement began and the girls turned in solid performances against Lynbrook, Howitt, Bethpage, and Freeport. Sukhneet Sahota, Jennifer Feldman, Jessica Williamson, Jillian Fortunato, Jackie Jean, and Kristin Sweeney turned in outstanding singles play on the season. Solid doubles matches were played by teams of Casey Maguffin and Julie Weidler, Ellen Chaleff and Marlo Jappen, Amanda Maguffin and Caitlin Sweeney, Samantha Weissman and Hiral Kadakia and Deanna Stone and Joanna Pacilio.
