Lightning Strikes in Hicksville
At 10:20 a.m. July 27, the Hicksville Fire Department and Nassau County Police were called to Cantiague Park after five men were struck by lightning. Three suffered severe burns, one suffered minor burns and another muscle strains. All the aided were taken to local hospitals by fire department and police ambulances.

Traffic Altercation Sends Hicksville Man to Hospital
Suffolk County Police's Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident where an alleged argument between two drivers led to the injury of a Hicksville man on Thursday, July 24 at 8:35 p.m. on a westbound exit ramp of the Long Island Expressway (LIE).

CSEA Local 830 Golf Outing
The CSEA Local 830, Nassau County's largest public service union, with 10,000 members, held its Third Annual Scholarship Classic Golf Outing on Monday, July 21 at the Eisenhower Park Red Course. Over 120 golfers hit the course on a beautiful summer day, preceded by a full breakfast, and followed by a superb dinner at Savannah's in East Meadow.

Charity Inaugural Soccer Tournament August 9
The Mastermind Unit, a nonprofit organization, is partnering with local Long Island Charities to raise funds for several causes and will host a charity event/inaugural soccer tournament on Saturday, Aug. 9. All proceeds will benefit the John Theissen Children's Foundation.
