The league, which was founded 34 years ago, has 73 clubs as members all over Long Island and over 1,200 women who play competitively all through the summer.
Some of the board members are residents of Great Neck like Cooky Blaha, the league's rule person; Mary Causin, a scorekeeper for the C division; Leslie Ostrover, dinner chair; and Elona Weiner, the league's president.
Participants from Great Neck at the event were Great Neck Park A-1 team, A-2 team and the C team, Great Neck Estates A-1 and A-2, Lake Success B-1 and B-2 teams and Wildwood A-2 team.
The dinner, which marks the end of the tennis season, was a smashing success, with 235 ladies who enjoyed the food, gift items and raffle.
The league proceeds, which exceeded last year, were donated as always to their charity, The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline.
During the event, awards were given out to the winning teams and Great Neck Park A-1 team received an engraved trophy for winning second place (coming short of first place by one point!)
Their trophy, which was given to their pro Rob Villegas who attended the event as he does every year, will be added to the collection of the other trophies and will be displayed at the tennis facility at Parkwood.
