The Eastern Property Owners' Association (EPOA) has launched a new website, www.gcepoa.org, with up-to-date information on all current issues facing the Incorporated Village of Garden City.
As the largest of Garden City's POAs-40 percent of the village population resides in the East-the EPOA believes that accurate, updated information and informed citizens are vital to maintaining good government. The new website brings the EPOA into the 21st century, providing a central source of timely information that supplements its newsletters and postcards, and creates a forum for interacting with the community.
Residents may submit questions and comments directly to the EPOA through its automated online system. The website's "Contact" section routes visitors' inquiries and/or opinions to the appropriate party, and trustees, officers and directors are a simple click away from various parts of the website.
A summary of the facts, current status and EPOA opinion on important issues facing the village are featured in the "Current Issues" section. In addition to St. Paul's, the Nassau County HUB, P-Zone property, 550 Stewart Avenue property, Winston project, and the IDA and the Garden City Hotel are profiled. The available information on St. Paul's includes the EPOA's 14 questions to Chairman Thomas Lamberti of the Mayor's Committee on St. Paul's and Trustee Lamberti's answers.
A description of the EPOA's purpose and the names of all trustees, officers and directors are listed in the "About Us" section and "Membership" describes the benefits of joining the EPOA and an easy way to join. "Upcoming Events" provides an updated calendar of meetings of public interest and "Links" connects to other Web sites of interest, such as GC Village and the GC Public Schools. Current and past newsletters can be read in the "Newsletters" section.
The entire website and its main page "Message Board" are updated frequently. The main page also links to a detailed description of the history of Garden City government, the Community Agreement and how it works, and a flowchart of village government.
The EPOA urges all village residents, particularly those living in the East, to visit its new website at www.gcepoa.org. "Progress through Participation" has never been easier!
