Garden City police report the arrests of six individuals for three incidents that occurred between 11:30 p.m. June 24 and 1:45 a.m. June 25. Five of the individuals: a male 15-year-old of New Hyde Park; Dylan Laird, 17, of Southborough, MA; Stephen Attard, 18, of New Hyde Park; a male 14-year-old from New Hyde Park, and Samuel Philip, 16, of New Hyde Park, were charged with first-degree robbery. Jaspreet Singh, 17, of New Hyde Park, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Garden City police report that the male 15-year-old, male 14-year-old and Philip allegedly assaulted and robbed a male of his cash and property as the victim exited a Stop & Shop on Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park. After this robbery, police report that these three subjects were joined by Laird, Attard and Singh. The subjects, according to police, proceeded to walk to New Hyde Park Road in Garden City carrying bats, sticks and a crow bar. At that time police said they blocked the roadway and stopped a female motorist who was traveling southbound. They then allegedly surrounded the vehicle and removed cigarettes from the female motorist's vehicle and attempted to get her out of her vehicle. She refused and was able to drive away and immediately call police.

Police said the subjects then proceeded to flag down a male motorist who was driving a van north on New Hyde Park Road. Again the subjects allegedly surrounded the vehicle with the intention to steal the vehicle but the motorist was able to drive away but not before one of the subjects struck his van with a bat demanding that he stop.

At this time Garden City Sergeant Grimes and Garden City Police Officers Dallolio and Bandl arrived at the scene and gave chase to the subjects. They apprehended Philip, Attard and the male 15-year-old.

A follow-up investigation was then conducted by Garden City detectives, assisted by Nassau County detectives, which led to the arrest of the three remaining subjects. At this time all subjects involved are being charged as adults.
