Another outstanding summer of entertainment has been planned for the Gazebo on Village Green, with our Summer Concert Series, which continues on Thursday, July 22, as the Recreation Department presents the legendary 1960s group, The Buckinghams in concert at the Gazebo on Village on Green. The Buckinghams are one of the '60s' most popular groups and they will be performing all of their top 10 hits, including Kind of a Drag, Susan, Don't You Care, and Hey Baby, They're Playing Our Song.

Concerts are held each Thursday evening, beginning at 7:15 p.m., at the Gazebo on Village Green, which is located at the corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues. There is no charge for admission, just bring your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the great music under the beautiful summer sky. In the event of a less than beautiful summer sky (rain), the shows are held indoors at the Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cluett Hall. Due to space limitations at Cluett Hall, proof of residency will be required for admission to any shows moved to this location.

For further information on these shows, please call the Recreation Department at 465-4075.

Every Tuesday night, a feature film is presented at the Pool. Please note that Garden City residents who are not pool members are not permitted to attend the movies.

For your convenience, the Snack Bar and Good Humor Stand will remain open during the movie, and popcorn will be on sale in the picnic area for $1 per cup.

Children under 13 must be accompanied to and during the movie by an adult.

Please note: In order to set up for the movie, the picnic area will close at 7 p.m. on movie nights. Additionally, anyone causing a disturbance during the movie will be removed from the pool.

The Garden City Public Library, in cooperation with the Pool, will once again sponsor the "Teens and Tots" storytime program this summer. This program will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at 2 p.m. in the Pool Picnic Area.
