The Farmingdale Dalers Football team opened up this year with their first two games on the road. They first defeated Oceanside 20-0, then it was on to Baldwin. With a tough hard game the Dalers were defeated 28-21. Now it was time to play home against the MacArthur Generals.
With the stormy weekend weather outlook, the Friday night game was moved to Sunday at Don Snyder Stadium. In a low scoring game the Dalers struck first with a 27-yard pass from QB Mike Thompson to receiver Tim Brown. The Dalers were up 7-0, but at half time it was tied up 7-7. Entering the fourth quarter the Dalers were behind 14-7, and that's when QB Mike Thompson found Tim Brown again with a touchdown reception. It was a great catch and he took a hard hit. Tim did get injured on the play, and was taken to the hospital via ambulance by the South Farmingdale Fire Department. His injuries are unknown at this time. That made the score 14 - 13, but MacArthur came up big with a blocked PAT. This kept the score at 14-13. The Dalers did get the ball again after a turnover, but only moved the ball a few yards and tried a field goal by Tom Brosnan, but it was short. The Dalers would lose their first home game as the Generals ran out the clock. For more photos visit www.elegantphotos4u.com.
